Michael Bashkin

Michael Bashkin began building guitars in 1994 during graduate studies in Forestry at Colorado State University. While subsequently teaching tropical forestry in Belize, Central America, he took the opportunity to hand select unique woods which are often featured in his guitars. In 1998 Michael opened his shop in Fort Collins, Colorado, building guitars full-time.
Bashkin Guitars are made from the finest materials using a combination of traditional and modern methods, to create instruments of exemplary beauty, tone, and playability. The aesthetics of Bashkin guitars are inspired by the natural beauty of wood and balanced, simple organic lines. His guitar models are designed and built to have the right combination of a note’s fundamental and its overtones to create a responsive, balanced and powerful guitar that is comfortable to play.
