Dan Bresnan

Dan Bresnan fell in love with the guitar as a young child, and it has since been a continual, central source of joy, comfort, and solace. He is trained in music, audio engineering, and guitar construction theory and techniques. Dan spent a number of years first as a performer, and later as a recording engineer. Over the past several years he has worked to integrate these experiences into his work as a luthier.

Dan's approach to lutherie is dominated by his perspective as a guitar player, providing him with a particular awareness and sensitivity to the “feel” and comfort of an instrument. The physical experience of the instrument and the ease with which the instrument provides access to the tonal range helps define the relationship between the player and the guitar. It is the mystique of a successful connection of this sort which is behind Dan's love for the art of lutherie.

Dan brings a love for music and a fascination with sound to his craft. He pursues a cohesive balance of natural elements by joining a study of acoustics and guitar construction theory, with more than 35 years as a guitarist, all with the ultimate hope of providing an avenue for musical inspiration to fellow musicians.
