View the Custom Guitar Maker Gallery

George A. Brown is quoted as saying, "If you care, it shows. If you don’t care, it shows more." This reference—which pinpoints so well a common trait among these artisans— is found on the site of one our luthiers, Alberico. You can access his website and many other luthiers’ websites through the Luthier’s Collection portal. We represent some of the world’s finest custom guitar makers and are interested in supporting their craft. We are also interested in helping provide the results of custom guitar maker passion to buyers who would like to have a finely crafted guitar in hand more immediately; or who would like to be able to select a custom guitar from among the works of many different luthiers and those created in different time periods by a single luthier. See the gallery and new acquisitions to learn more.

Custom Guitar Makers

The stories of how guitar makers have come to their craft are varied, each story unique and each one influencing the guitars made by the artist. Custom guitar makers are a select group and, fortunately, part of a growing field of great passion, artistry and craftsmanship. Fortunate, because the custom guitar maker can only work on one guitar at a time, so it takes many months to produce a single custom guitar, and the more men and women who develop their craft, the greater the opportunity to own a custom instrument.

Also, access to custom guitars and information about them is more immediate than ever before: You can participate in forums, read blogs, attend workshops and guitar conventions in your area—or travel to them if this is your passion—and you can view fine guitars here at Luthier’s Collection.

Once you have an idea of what you may be interested in purchasing, please call or email us. We are based in San Diego and are happy to meet with you by appointment to show you some of the best handmade guitars around!
